Long day for some, no play for others at US Open

OAKMONT, Pa. (AP) — The latest from the U.S. Open golf championship (all times local): 4:30 p.m. Amateur Scottie Scheffler quickly hit his last putt Thursday as the horn sounded to end play on a stormy day at the U.S. Open. He wanted to get done so he could watch Game 6 of the NBA Finals that night. Little did he realize he would have even more time on his hands before beginning his second round. The incoming junior at the University of Texas got the day off Friday, after shooting a 1 under 69 to get on the Open leaderboard.
